Another week has flown by and 5/6B is beginning to get into the Christmas spirit! Thank you to Mrs Bound and Mrs Sanghera who worked so hard in turning the classroom into a festive grotto with lights, tinsel and a very special Christmas display featuring all the children! Back to the learning and it has been a non-stop week for the children! Miss O'Reilly, in her final week at St Paul's (she will be joining us again in the Spring term), taught English this week where the children began to write their own versions of Neil Gaiman's The Wolves in the Walls. The children enjoyed lots of shared writing, exploring different techniques for creating character and setting descriptions and of course writing their own stories. In maths we re-visited multiplication and division where the children worked on multiplying and dividing larger numbers whilst then looking to apply these skills into reasoning problems. The week finished with the children designing and making their own board games with a maths theme. In DT we practiced different stitching styles with most of the children starting to make great progress with a running stitch. We then spent the week getting ready for making our products next week.
