Another wet week here in 3A. But it hasn't dampened our spirits! We have had a busy and creative week in class doing lots of active learning and creative writing in English. Some boys even taught me how to do some football skills in P.E today! Here's our weekly run down:
English - Publishing our picture books about a traditional tale inspired by The Egyptian Cinderella, features of a kenning and writing our own based on One Plastic Bag. Grammar focuses on verbs, nouns, adverbs and prefixes.
Maths - creating patterns using 3D shapes, clockwise and anticlockwise turns with full, half, quarter and three quarter turning, angles, right angles.
Guided Reading - looking at retrieval skills to answer comprehension questions and the definitions of unfamiliar vocabulary (see photos)
Topic - the Egyptian alphabet (hieroglyphics) and designing our own cartouche's ready to make them after half term.
DT - creating a design criteria, specifications, designs and a final design for our night light.
Science - using cardboard to create our own moving arm which shows how our muscles work (see photos)
R.E - acting out the story of Noah's Ark (see photos)
P.E. - tennis: skills with balances the ball, serving and hitting the ball with a racquet.
Only one week left to go 3A and lots of exciting activities going on.
Reminder about P.E kits: P.E kit is a yellow or house coloured polo with black shorts or joggers. We had been more flexible with this post lockdown return, but there is still an expectation that children come into school wearing the P.E uniform and not their own clothes.
Don't forget to bring in any butter lids and yoghurt pots for various activities we are doing if possible and have a restful weekend.
I look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Monday!
