Week 3 Work
Another fantastic week in 5/6B! This week we have started our new book in English, Night of the Gargoyles'. The children have been looking at creating freeze frames posing as gargoyles. They have been looking at using powerful verbs in descriptive writing and have also been thinking of what tricks the gargoyles could play on humans. In maths we have been looking at ordering, comparing and rounding numbers and the children enjoyed an 'active maths' lesson on Friday where they put their new skills to the test. In the afternoons we have been using maps in geography to locate different countries and places. In science we have been exploring the different planets in the solar system. Shared reading has also seen us read The Tyger by William Blake and the children writing their own stanzas in his style.
Lillie's stanza based on The Tyger by William Blake.
Ralf's work in geography using maps to locate places and countries in Europe, North and South America.
Arty's maths work rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 100 (and also to the nearest tenth and hundredth!).
Ollie's English work based on Night of the Gargoyles. Using powerful verbs to describe how the gargoyles move.
