Week 3
It has been another busy week in 5/6C. We were all very proud of those year 6 children who were selected as captains, vice-captains and school ambassadors. Congratulations to...
Tom - St David's House Captain
Sofi - St David's Vice-Captain
Cory - St George's Vice-Captain
Jamie - School Ambassador
Megan - School Ambassador
Along with Gabriel, who was chosen as our collective worship lead, and Juliana, who was chosen as our school counsellor, we could not be prouder of our year 6 children.
In class this week we have been doing the following...
English - We have continued with our work on Night of the Gargoyles. The children have been planning their own narrative poem where they will be including the tricks that they acted out last week. We also created our own shared write where the children came up with some fantastic ideas.
Maths - This week year 6 were taught by myself and Mrs Young and year 5 were with Mrs Wellicome. We were all impressed with their hard work and positive attitudes. Year 6 were looking at place value and ordering numbers up to 1,000,000. Year 5 were also looking at place value and applying their knowledge to reasoning based questions.
Afternoon subjects - With this week being vision week our afternoons were focused on the story of Paul and his journey and how it relates to our school values and visions. It was fantastic to see how engaged the children were with the story. Along with our trip to church the children really enjoyed delving deeper into our school vision and what it means to them. It was also nice to see so many parents on Friday come and look at the children's work.
Star of the Week - Well done to Cherry who was the star of the week for showing the value of challenging, particularly with his fantastic work on a descriptive poem about a wolf.
