In maths we looked at butterflies. We discussed the meaning of the words symmetrical and symmetry. Then we made our own symmetrical butterflies.
Day of the African Child
We listened to a talk by Mrs Newbold about her visit to our link school, St Charles Lwanga in Sierra Leone. We saw lots of pictures of the school. Some of us wrote about the school.
We looked at a painting called The Freetown Cotton Tree by Mudiama Kammoh. We worked together to create a similar painting.
We painted different minibeasts, leaves, rocks and sticks. We cut out long pieces of grass. Mrs Bush made a display of our work. She also added our symmetrical butterflies.
Our caterpillars are growing really quickly!
