It has been another busy week in 5/6B and it feels like we have all settled back into the day-to-day routine of school life. It has been so nice to see the children working hard and enjoying being back in class. With St Patrick's Day and Red Nose happening it has also been great to do some 'out of the ordinary' activities like nature collages and creating our own superheroes.
In English this week we have been continuing to plan our Greek myth and have been focussing on setting and using figurative language. In maths we have been looking at identifying, measuring and drawing a range of angles and practicing using protractors. In science the children made classification keys using sweets (and showed great restrain in not eating any). In geography the children looked at specific features of a mountain and mountain ranges and then drew their own mountains and labelled the features. In PE we continued our team building activities and also drew on our maths knowledge of shape and compass directions as well as a hilarious challenge involving balance, a ball and attempting to not fall over (well done Miss O'Reilly and Mrs Sanghera for demonstrating this brilliantly).
Parents please remember to check your child's school email account for an invite to a Teams appointment for parent's evening on either Wednesday 31st March or Thursday 1st. Any problems please feel free to email me.
This week's song is R U Mine by Sheffield's finest Arctic Monkeys. A band that I once said would never amount to anything. I was very wrong and have since issued a retraction of my statement.
