W/C 28th September

During English, we've mainly been watching film clips this week surprise laugh

2C would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to the superhero parents that gave up their time to bring learning to life for the whole of KS1.  Thank you to Mrs Hubbard, Mrs Gilbert and our very own Alex's dad, Professor Beggs -  and all their colleagues -  for the wonderful insight into how they help people everyday in the jobs they do.  The hard work they put into film making (and their jobs roles!) really encouraged us as we wrote about everyday superheroes.  THANK YOU ALL ONCE AGAIN !

Note to parents: Just in case your children don't tell you themselves - the whole class thought their Mum's and Dad's were superheroes in their eyes.  Children are often so honest and say the most heart warming of things.  It was clear to us all that they are very proud of their families which was absolutely lovely ! heart

This half term we are completing two units of PE - Playground Athletics and Multi-skills.  We are having great fun twice a week and thought you would enjoy sharing it with us.  This week we were working on high jump and relay skills on Tuesday and balls skills on Thursday.

We completed our first unit of work, place value, in Maths this week.  Everyone worked very hard to recap Year 1 learning, catch up on what may have been missed and tackle the new Year 2 content. The children achieved to the best of their ability in the end of unit assessment, which was very pleasing to see.  On Friday, as the rain kept us inside, we enjoyed recapping our number bond knowledge with a little help from CBBC Super Movers.  Perhaps you might like to join in at home !
