Week Beginning 22nd October
This week we have been following our designs to make our diamond kites.
We attached two pieces of dowelling to the back of the kite and added a string bridle to the shorter piece of dowel. Most of us needed help to tie a knot in the string! Some of us added streamers to our kites and then we took them outside to fly them on the school field.
Week beginning 15th October
In English this week we made story maps for our own Traction Man adventures. We focused on making sure our stories had a beginning, a middle and an end.
In art we worked in groups to make our own A3 Pointillism pictures based on George Seurat's painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. We worked quickly to make sure they were up on display in time for parents' evening we hope you enjoyed looking at them.
Week Beginning 8th October
In English we sequenced pictures from the story Traction Man is Here. Maybe you could retell the story to someone at home. Remember to words like Once upon a time... Suddenly.... Finally....
Week Beginning 4th October
Thank you to all the parents who gave up their time to come into school on No Pens Day to talk to the children about their superhero jobs. On Friday during our English sessions we wrote about real life superheroes.
Thank you, we had a lovely collection of Bibles to look at. We listened to the story of Jonah from The Old Testament and the story of The Prodigal Son from The New Testament.
In RE this week we are focusing on the Bible. If you have a Bible at home and you would like to show it to the class please bring it into school on Wednesday 3rd October.
