Welcome back to the last 1/2 term of this school year ! Please could the children wear PE CLOTHES on TUESDAY, when Mr Barnes will take them and also on a FRIDAY when I will teach them. We will keep on top of our vegetable beds on a Friday too. Hats and sunscreen are a must for Friday's in particular, as I anticipate being outdoors most of the afternoon. Please do also remember to send your child to school with a water bottle every day.
We will continue with BOOKBAGS as they are - in on a MONDAY and out on a WEDNESDAY. It would be great for any reading your child does to be recorded in their reading diary - it doesn't just have to be school books! Don't forget BUG CLUB is also available for online reading and comprehension. Spellings will continue too - set weekly on Spelling Shed, with the test being on a Friday morning. There is also a note of the spellings under "year 2 spellings" on this class page. Weekly Mathletics tasks will continue to follow what we are working on in class.
I'm looking forward to a wonderful few weeks of learning with all of the children and... now the sun has made an appearance... fingers crossed it continues to shine down on us all on what I'm sure will be a very busy and exciting 1/2 term. As usual, please don't hesitate to contact me by email, 'phone or catch me in the playground should you have any queries at all. :)
As per my email last week, this half term ALL children should wear their PE kits on a Tuesday and outdoor clothes on a Thursday. This Thursday, the 29th April, sees the class swap forest school and gardening groups. A letter from Mrs Bean regarding forest school was sent home with the 2nd half of the class to attend these sessions last Thursday. Now the weather is getting warmer please ensure your child has a water bottle and hat, and has had sun screen applied.
In the week commencing 8th March, we will once again try to begin our Forest School classes. Letters will be sent home on Monday (8th) for those children taking part as Group 1. These are the same children as originally listed in the table below and sessions will start on Thursday 11th March. The children in Group 2 will also be taking part in outdoor learning with myself therefore ALL children should come to school dressed appropriately for such activities. As usual, groups will swap to allow participation in both Forest School and the other outdoor learning sessions. Letters will be sent to Group 2 children in due course.
We are hoping to recommence our Forest School programme from Thursday 7th January. The groups of children will remain the same as planned for the Autumn Term - see the original table below. Group 1 (Forest School) children will have received a letter, placed in their book bags in the last week of term before the Christmas holidays. Group 2 (Dance) children will be doing Gym classes with myself in the hall. Both groups of children should be dressed appropriately for their activities. Please bear in mind that those doing gym sessions will need to be warm enough during the rest of the school day and during outdoor break times.
We will swap groups after 4 weeks to ensure that all children get the chance to experience Forest School this term.
We will be re-commencing our Forest School programme after 1/2 term, on a Thursday afternoon. I have letters to go out but these will not now be sent home until Monday 2nd November at the earliest. Your child will either need to come dressed in Forest School appropriate clothes OR their PE kit. Please check the list below to see which session your child will be attending - both starting on 5th November:
