School Crest

As you enter our school you walk past a series of crests on the school wall. They bring together, in symbols, some key points in the school’s history.

The crests significances are as follows:

1.   The coat-of-arms of Squire Willes, on whose land the school was built.

2. The original badge of the school showing cross swords of St Paul and the torch of learning.

3.  The crest of the Coventry Diocese in which the school is located.

4.   The crest of Coventry Cathedral with which the school is linked as a Church of England School. It shows St Michael overcoming the Devil.

5.  The cross of nails represents the nails used at the crucifixion and the first cross made for Coventry Cathedral after the bombing.  The nails were part of what little was left after the resulting fire and were used by the congregation who continue to worship in the ruins.
